Billie Jean King to join Dodgers ownership group

And I think that’s a fantastic thing.

“The thing I love about the Dodgers is that they’re concerned with inclusion and they want to do good. It’s so good to have different voices, different cultures, more ideas, better ideas.”

Winning when they have to

The 2018 Dodgers are not one of my favorite Dodger teams.

Too many strikeouts, poor hitting with runners on base, a lousy bullpen.

But I’ll say this about the 2018 Bums — they’ve usually won the games they needed to.

With backs against the wall, when a loss could have been a crushing blow to postseason chances, the Dodgers have found a way to win a game.

That’s an important quality to have when October arrives. We’ll see.

We’re in first place this morning, and it’s Kershaw Day. Can’t ask for more than that. 😀⚾️👍

Tough like Chase Utley

Tuesday at softball practice, a teammate’s errant throw hit Maisa square in the back while she ran the bases. Ouch!

Maisa was definitely hurting. The ball was not a soft toss.

And then, to my great satisfaction, she walked away from the play and loudly declared: “I’m all right!”

There were a couple of tears and she needed a half-minute to catch her breath. But Maisa showed some real grit by returning to action almost immediately. I was very proud of how she handled it.

Maisa is far from perfect, but I hope her teammates were paying attention to how she handled a painful moment.

Cy-Hawk Saturday

Had a good time watching the game with friends. The word is fight, fight, fight for Iowa!

Saturday was chilly so I had to cover up my Hawkeye shirt with my Dodgers jacket.

The Bums had a good weekend, taking two of three at Colorado. They followed it up with a stinker on Monday in Cincy. Los Angeles is 0-5 vs. the Reds this year.
