Coaches’ choice

Maisa made a very positive impression on her coaches in Florida.

They were impressed with her attitude, her versatility and her willingness to do whatever it took to help the team.

Maisa ended up playing a lot of shortstop because the team needed her there — even though she’s better and more experienced as a pitcher/outfielder/first baseman.

Maisa’s coaches raved about her enthusiasm, saying she was the ideal teammate. The head coach shared her phone number with Jill and asked us to provide updates on Maisa’s progress in the upcoming year.

Jill and I are very proud of Maisa conducted herself at the tournament. She played well, but more important than that she made a great impression on all of her teammates and coaches. Maisa has demonstrated an ability to make her teammates feel good about themselves.

Last game of 10U softball

Girls played better the last two days but finished 1-5 in the All-American Tournament in Florida. Our Central Region team didn’t have quite enough offense to be a contender.

Maisa had a nice tournament and more important she had a lot of fun. She had some good moments pitching, in the field, in the batter’s box and on the base paths (including a bunt “home run”).

Now it’s on to 11U softball in the fall.
