Monthly Archives: August 2016
Going toe to toe with the best team in baseball for 28 innings was an impressive feat for the Dodgers.
Quite a weekend, taking two of three from the Cubs.
Mrs. DodgerKramer and I enjoyed a rare lunch date today at The Fighting Burrito in Ankeny. Maisa was at a friend’s house for a play date.
We had two large burritos for the price of one thanks to a coupon I spotted in the Register.
2016 is the Cubs’ year, and we’re the latest fan base to be on the wrong side of the avalanche.
I’m challenging myself to hold my head high and lose with dignity this weekend.
Let’s hope we can come out of the series with no new injuries. Also hope the Giants can lose a game or two vs. Atlanta.
Maisa’s competitive-league softball team started the fall season last week.
And what a difference a few months can make — the girls played fabulously.
The Jaguars crushed a Johnston team 12-1 in the first game before losing by a single run against a strong Des Moines team in the nightcap.
Maisa and her mates swung the bats fiercely. It’s amazing how much they’ve improved in the batter’s box. It was great to see so many balls end up in the outfield.
The team play a couple games every weekend (either Saturday or Sunday) through the end of October. If you’d like to come and watch, get ahold of Jill or me and we’ll let you know the schedule.
