Good call, blue

Maisa pretends to be the umpire yesterday at the Principal Park sculptures. She did that unprompted. Very cute.

We enjoyed watching the Harlan baseball team capture the Class 3A state championship. The boys can really hit that ball.

Country song of the year, 1996

Twenty years ago, George Strait released one of his greatest hits, “Blue Clear Sky.”

It’s a personal favorite of James/Jill Kramer.

It’s a tough call

I’m having a hard time deciding which was my favorite summer activity as a kid: playing baseball or riding bikes around town. Both were very, very fun.

Lord knows how much I’ve always loved baseball, but there’s something special about the freedom that goes with having a bicycle in a small town.

Every day was different, yet every day was the same. The memories are thick — almost all good ones.

Walter Alston, strong man

Dodgers Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston (24) in the middle of the scrum in 1957.

“Smokey” was famous for winning four World Series and his incredible physical strength.

Good luck to No. 23 of the Braves. 😂
