What’s your favorite fight song?

I heard the Iowa State fight song a lot the other night when we attended the volleyball game. It’s a fine fight song, I suppose.

I’m not an expert on this subject, but I have to say that Iowa’s fight song is much more distinctive and sticks in your head more than Iowa State’s.

See what you think …

I’ve always been a big fan of UCLA’s fight song. It’s probably my favorite…

And USC’s is pretty darn solid, too…

Of course, the greatest fight song of them all belongs to Notre Dame (and Harlan Community High School).

It’s also my Dad’s favorite fight song…

Oh, the fun we had!

We visited the Dubuque County Freedom Rock on Friday, then spent a few hours at the National Rivers Museum in Dubuque.

In the afternoon we watched the Hawkeyes on TV with Uncle Hub, Doris and their grandkids. Then we had dinner with them at Golf Side Grille in Dyersville (Cousin Molly and Matt joined us there, too.).

A full day. A good day.

Update: We stopped at Aunt Vera’s on our way home Saturday. Always a pleasure to sit down and chat with one of Dubuque County’s nicest ladies.

And one more picture for the night

We spent much of Thanksgiving evening looking at Mom’s old pictures, an activity I enjoy very much.

Here’s one of my favorites: Dad playing catch during his Army stint in Korea. 🙂 Wonder what was on his mind. Was he homesick? Bored? Accepting of his situation? Wishing he could throw and catch like Willie Mays and Duke Snider? Wondering how his beloved Cubs were faring on the other side of the world?
