The Cattle Call song

On this Father’s Day 2015, I thought I’d post a video of one of my Dad’s old favorites: “Cattle Call” by Eddy Arnold. I’m happy to report that Maisa has taken a liking to this song, too.

==============

A tip of the hat to all the fathers who read this today, especially my Dad and two other very special guys:

Leon Kramer was a great man. And he didn’t have to act tough or use profanity or make fun of people to make himself feel like a man.

Clarence Brinker is exceptionally generous with his time and talents. He has a wonderful sense of humor. He adores Maisa. … And he’s a great guy to talk to over the coffee (or Black Velvet).

Maisa found a new friend Saturday night: her great uncle Hub.

Hub Kramer is a lot like my dad. Gentle and kind and a big hit with kids. No one cares more about family than Hub. … Oh, and he’s the state’s No. 1 Dodger fan.

Summer solstice

Today is the first day of summer … and no one does summer better than Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys.

Dodger Stadium debut

Brother SK attended his first game at Chavez Ravine and sent this picture to me. The Dodgers tried to rally but fell 5-3 vs. Texas.

But what a beautiful, iconic snapshot this is. My eyes immediately gravitate to the Three Sisters palm trees. I just love ’em. (see them there huddled above the Budweiser sign?)

Maisa broke her arm falling off the monkey bars Tuesday.

The 2015 Leon Kramer MVP award goes to …

This year’s MVP of the Farley Tournament was A.J. Reuter of Monticello.

Pictured with A.J. is my brother Dan and my sister Julie.
