Giant pain in the neck

I’ve never gotten caught up in the Giants-Dodgers rivalry like most Dodger fans do.

But I’ve gotta admit that I’m starting to have a lot of disdain for that Madison Bumgarner. Buster Posey and Angel Pagan, too.

That said, they can’t match the disdain I have for the Cardinals. Ohhhh no!

From last night’s AP game report

Zack Greinke improved to 21-1 with a 1.88 ERA in 31 games against division opponents since joining the Dodgers as a free agent before the 2013 season. He is 15-0 in his last 19 starts against NL West teams.

The Cubbies!

Words I don’t type very often: The Chicago Cubs are must-see TV this season.

With big-time prospects Kris Bryant and Addison Russell recently added to the roster, these are not your typical Cubbies.

The Ankeny Kramers usually have the Rays’ games on TV at 6 p.m., but lately the Cubs have dominated our early-evening viewing choices.

Music to my ears

One of my favorite things about attending games at Dodger Stadium is hearing “I Love L.A.” by Randy Newman after each victory. Dodger fans heard it a lot on the recently completed homestand.

Fun times in the town of Grimes

We had dinner at the Mustang Grill in Grimes tonight. Good food and lots of leftovers. Back home now and ready for Dodgers vs. Rockies.

Always a treat

Happiness is the daily ebb and flow of baseball season.

Happiness is that “can’t-wait” feeling I get when thinking about the nightly Dodger game.

Happiness is spending an entire day with my wife and daughter and, when the sun sets, plopping down on the couch to watch the game.

Happiness is a 7-3 record to start the season.

Happiness is having Zack Greinke on the mound tonight vs. Colorado. Greinke is merely 19-1 against NL West opponents since joining the Dodgers.
