Oh what a view

I’ve been watching sports on HDTV much of the last two days, and enjoying every minute of it. Can’t wait till baseball season.

Had a great time with Papa B. and Jill watching Iowa beat Nebraska in football today. Iowa is so lucky to have Kirk Ferentz as coach. The Hawkeyes are 8-4 and headed to a terrific bowl game. Very impressive.

Happy Thanksgiving

So good to see Mom, Dan, Julie, Steve, Wayne and the spouses and kids in Altoona today. Great food and great conversation.

Enjoyed the Hawkeyes’ overtime basketball victory tonight. Tomorrow brings more basketball and football, and of course I’m looking forward to Sunday’s Iowa-ISU wrestling meet.

Perfect harmony

If you are ever having a crappy day during this holiday season, click on this video and listen to the Beach Boys harmonize their way through the “Little Saint Nick” song.

They’re the best.

Work and play

November is my hardest month of the year at work, just edging out February and March. So it was nice to spend a couple of days with a Gramma and Grampa B. this weekend. And we’re really looking forward to seeing Gramma K, Big D and the rest of my kin on Thanksgiving Day.

The right guy for the job

Is Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz overpaid? Of course. All major-college coaches are.

Could the Hawkeyes possibly find a better coach than Ferentz to fit their situation? Never.

KF is the perfect coach for Iowa, and he has proven that again this year. It is HARD to win in Iowa City, and Ferentz has done it with remarkable consistency.

Hawkeye fans are very, very lucky to have Ferentz at the helm.

A good read for Hawkeye fans

Click here to read a nice story by the Register’s Rick Brown about Iowa football player Conor Boffeli and his brother who beat cancer.

Conor’s parents hail from the Farley/Epworth area.
