Dodgers leapfrog the Giants

24 Apr

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their solid play Sunday with a 7-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

The Dodgers have won six of their last eight games, improving to 12-11 — good for second place in the National League West. The third-place Giants are 10-11 after being swept by Atlanta.

Also Sunday, the Dodgers’ Andre Ethier became the third player in MLB history to have an April hitting streak of at least 21 games.

The Dodgers have had arguably the best 3 and 4 hitters in baseball this season.

Ethier bats third and is hitting .382. Matt Kemp is the cleanup hitter and has a batting average of .402.
