I’ve become exceptionally good at holding on to my money in recent months/years.
I’ve had the same $20 bill in my billfold for about two weeks. How many people can say that?
Granted, many of the purchases we make in the United States these days are debit card transactions. Still, I think it’s something of an accomplishment that I haven’t used that Andrew Jackson yet.
There’s nothing better than the smile my little girl flashes at me when she sees me for the first time each morning.
The Bums started their spring training slate yesterday with a loss to the Cubs at Mesa, Ariz. Hopefully it’s not an omen. 🙂
Micah Hoffpauir hit a grand slam to sink the Dodgers. I feel bad for that guy, because he’s stuck behind Derrek Lee and can’t get significant playing time. Hoffpauir had a gigantic year at triple-A Iowa last year, so I think he could help a few big-league squads. Just needs to find the right fit.
It’s the Lakers vs. the Suns tonight on TNT. Tip-off at 9:30 p.m. CST.
It’s a bit lengthy (8 hours), but if you’re even slightly interested in the birth of this country, I suggest you watch the HBO miniseries “John Adams.”
I picked it up at the library for free, and found the time I invested well worth it. Each of the seven segments stands somewhat on its own, so it doesn’t feel like you’re watching an 8-hour movie.
A lot of my political science classes in college dealt with that time period, naturally. It was a good review of that material, and much more. But even those of you who don’t know much about that era will enjoy the HBO series and learn a lot.
